The end of the year for high schoolers is around the corner, and there’s nothing better than searching for a scholarship opportunity. Our team at Send Your Kids To College has been working for years to help students find the best scholarships in WNY for high schoolers. Our Young Achievers Scholarship is only for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, so we figured we’d take some time today to provide some recommendations for WNY seniors that will get them on the right track!

Here are five local WNY scholarship opportunities for high school seniors to apply for this year in the Spring and Summer!

Allentown Art Festival 2025 Scholarship

One of Buffalo’s most sought-after spots in the city is Allentown, and with that also comes the artistic appeal it carries. From the artists who paint the streets and buildings to its other attractive flair.

The Allentown Art Festival 2025 Scholarship awarded $22,000 in scholarship funds in 2024 and will continue to award more to those who apply in 2025. Scholarships are awarded to current high school seniors attending all WNY Counties of Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus & Alleghany in public, private, or parochial (relating to church parish) schools and who have been accepted to post-secondary schools in a full-time visual arts study program.

The deadline for this scholarship is Friday, April 25th.

The Taste of Buffalo 2025 Scholarships

The Taste of Buffalo is arguably the largest annual two-day food festival in the US, centered in the heart of downtown Buffalo, NY. With this comes a continuing commitment from Taste of Buffalo to offer a scholarship program for college-bound students in the eight counties of WNY.

They offer 3 separate scholarship opportunities: the Taste of Buffalo Scholarship, the Tops Scholarship, and the 2025 Eric DuVall What's Next Fund Memorial Scholarship.

The deadline for all three scholarships is Thursday, April 17th.

The Erie County Fire Chiefs (ECFC) 2025 Scholarship

We want to take some time to also recognize our first responders and their continued commitment to making Buffalo and WNY a safe place. The Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization Scholarship is to be awarded to the county’s firefighters of each type (juniors, regular or immediate family).

The eligibility is limited to students under matriculated status, which means it’s for those who want to earn a degree with at least 12 credit hours. The Erie County Chiefs will award $1000 scholarships annually for the academic year commencing in September.

The deadline for this scholarship is Wednesday, April 30th.

Equine Collaborative International, Inc. Scholarship 2025

Equine Collaborative International is a non-profit organization with ties to the horse industry. Both professional and non-professional horse persons come together in this organization to promote educational opportunities to everyone, from youth beginners to long-seasoned professionals, on how to care for horses.

Their 2025 scholarship looks for someone to enter a collegiate program related to the equine industry or any person entering a technical/certification program related to the equine industry (Parelli, John Lyons, Farrier, Equine Dentistry, etc)

The deadline for this scholarship is Monday, June 30th.

The Carol Calato Scholarship

For the final scholarship to be promoted, we wanted to take it back to the arts. The Northwest Jazz Festival in Lewiston, NY began in 2001 and since then has grown to be one of the largest in the Northeast, featuring over 150 musicians throughout the two-day event.

The festival has announced a scholarship opportunity awarded to a high school graduating senior or current college student who lives in Niagara or Erie Counties. Along with winning the scholarship, the winner will have the opportunity to perform at a future festival.

The deadline for this scholarship is Saturday, May 31st.

We hope this helps WNY senior students and their parents, and remember… there’s no limit to how many scholarships you apply for! We recommend that students apply to as many as they can! It’s never too late to apply! (Unless you miss the deadline!)

For any parents who have students who are underclassmen or who may be looking for the Young Achievers Scholarship, we will be accepting applications until the deadline on June 30th. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for more tips and information for planning for college!
