Welcome back to the blog! We help students and families with the college preparation phase. Each year, we get to meet new students and families all over the Western New York region because obviously, there’s a new crop of students each year! Over the years we’ve worked with older brothers, aunts, and nieces, and we continue to meet new people from all over the region. We wanted to take some time today to introduce our services to new students and families who may not know who we are!

As we enter into a new year in 2025, we look forward to helping more families prepare for college, and here’s how we do that!

Educational Prep

Financial Aid Prep

Scholarship Prep

Educational Prep

One aspect of our organization is our talented team at All-Pro Tutoring. With our partners Jackie and Denise, along with their network of tutors all over Buffalo and the surrounding areas, students can improve and enhance their education through private tutoring to help prepare for college. Their tutors can help improve on any specific subject of course, but the ACT and SAT prep courses that Jackie and Denise and All-Pro Tutoring provide are unmatched locally.

They have courses available in 4-hour blocks of 2 hours each, or 9-hour boot camp courses in 3-hour blocks, for 3 days. If your student plans to attend college, it’s important that they score high on their ACT and SAT tests, as this will help differentiate them from other students in competition for the same acceptance letters, (and financial aid!) as your student. For more information on courses available, when, and where, please check out their site at allprotutoring.com

Financial Aid Prep

As many of our readers and friends have known, the last few years have been a challenge, to say the least when it comes to FAFSA and financial aid paperwork. This year the FAFSA has been delayed and tested again, but is finally working itself out. Regardless of how the Dept of Education claims things have been “simplified,” it’s always vital to have someone in your pocket who can help you with financial aid forms. Oftentimes the people who help you at the college are busy helping others, and good luck getting assistance from your school guidance counselor when they have a whole bunch of other HS students to work with.

That’s why we’ve always been here, because we understand that the FAFSA, CSS profile, and NYS TAP are not easy, especially for parents putting their first student through college. Give us a call or fill out our contact form for help with frustrating financial aid forms.

Scholarship Prep

One of the final aspects of the Send Your Kids to College organization that makes us truly proud is the work we do with local WNY Young Achievers. We provide a small local scholarship for 3 Western New York Students each year, and this also helps kids prepare. Because our scholarship is specifically for students who are younger in High School, (freshmen, sophomores, juniors) it helps them see that applying for scholarships is attainable, achievable, and good practice.

By applying for the Young Achievers Scholarship, they not only get a chance to earn $1000 for college, but they also get a full practice essay for other scholarships they may apply to in the future. Also, several finalists are selected each year and brought in for an interview with Jeff Boron to measure their qualifications in person, which is another great practice run for future interviews with potential bosses or other college interviews.

These are the top 3 reasons we can help a WNY student bound for college, but this isn’t all we do! If you have a question regarding something to do with college we can certainly help. Don’t be shy! We have decades of experience in the college planning process, and we are more than willing to set up a meeting to go over your needs. We look forward to hearing from you and as always, if you’ve worked with us before and appreciate what we’ve been able to do to help, be a friend, and tell a friend so we can help more WNY Students!
